Tim Parker

Tim is president of Grand Angels, a 60 member venture capital and angel investment group. He oversees Grand Angels’ deal sourcing, investing, and portfolio management along with representing the group at networking and educational events across Michigan. He also serves as a managing partner for their venture capital fund. Prior to Grand Angels, Tim was the founder of a global export, trading, and consulting startup, focusing on increasing trade between Michigan and Asian markets. During his time as an entrepreneur, he obtained exclusive rights to Asia for 15 U.S. brands, representing more than 120 SKU’s and establishing relationships with major retailers in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, The Philippines, Japan, South Korea, and others. Tim also served as an advisor to Michigan companies, helping them with growth and innovation strategies. Before becoming an entrepreneur, Tim spent 17 years at Bissell, Inc., leading their global research and development organization while they grew from $150 million to $1 billion in revenue. He is listed as an inventor on 13 patents.

Tim holds a B.S. degree in Manufacturing Administration and also a M.B.A. from Western Michigan University. He is a frequent guest lecturer at several universities in the area, speaking on strategy, business ethics, international business, innovation, and product development. Tim is a member of the Angel Capital Association and the Michigan Venture Capital Association.
