Greg Besio joined the board of MicroLAM to represent Irish Angels, where he is an active investor and member of the investment committee. Mr. Besio is also a board member at Wheels, Inc., the Chicago History Museum and Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago. He formerly served on the boards of Textura, Inc., and Aon Nederlands, bv.
Mr. Besio recently retired from Aon plc., a global provider of risk and retirement advisory services. He held a number of senior roles during his ten-year tenure at Aon, all reporting to the CEO, including, Global Head of Strategy, Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Information Officer, Head of M&A, Executive Integration Leader for the Aon Hewitt integration, and Chief Human Resources Officer.
Prior to joining Aon, Mr. Besio worked at Motorola where he held a number of operational and staff roles including Corporate Vice President, Mobile Devices Software Development and head of Motorola’s Corporate Strategy team. Mr. Besio joined Motorola from McKinsey & Company, a leading management consulting firm, where he was a partner and served clients in the private equity, telecommunications, internet services and technology sectors on operations, strategy and marketing projects.
Mr. Besio is a graduate in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, and earned a doctoral degree in the same discipline from Princeton University. He also holds a masters degree in business administration from the University of Chicago with concentrations in finance and marketing.
